Mahindra Global Pik Up Concept (Scorpio N-Based) – All Details

Mahindra & Mahindra has added a special touch to this year’s Independence Day by introducing its fresh lineup of OJA tractors and the all-new Global Pik Up concept. These exciting models are making their global debut in Cape Town, South Africa. The automotive giant emphasizes that the Mahindra Global Pik Up, while presented as a concept, has been meticulously crafted in India (Mumbai) with a global audience in mind.

Despite its conceptual nature, the pickup showcases a remarkably pragmatic design. Drawing inspiration from the Scorpio N SUV, this new pickup truck is engineered to excel in diverse applications, ranging from everyday commuting to off-road adventures and overlanding. The production version of the Mahindra Scorpio N Pik Up concept will have its world premiere in 2025.

The heart of the new Mahindra Global Pik Up concept lies in the Gen II mHawk all-aluminium diesel engine, a powerplant already recognized from its duty in the Scorpio N SUV. This 2.2L diesel engine boasts a spectrum of outputs – 132bhp with 300Nm, 175bhp with 370Nm (with a manual gearbox), and 175bhp with 400Nm (when paired with an automatic gearbox).

The Mahindra Scorpio N pickup is equipped with 4X4 capabilities and offers four distinctive driving modes – Normal, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Rut and Sand. The pickup also comes replete with advanced features, including 5G connectivity, semi-automatic parking, a sunroof, and ADAS technology. Mahindra has confirmed that the new pickup concept underpins the ‘next-generation ladder-frame’ that has earned 5 star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test.

Manifesting rugged aesthetics, the new pickup concept from Mahindra boasts an assertive front profile, highlighted by a black grille showcasing Mahindra’s iconic logo at the center. The bumper, substantial and adorned with bash-plate and tow hooks positioned on the lower section, adds to its robust demeanor. The fog lamp assembly, surrounded by a black frame, and the prominent bonnet further amplify the pickup’s commanding presence. Noteworthy design elements include black plastic cladding on the wheel arches, robust off-road tires, a snorkel (for water-wading capability) and red accents that punctuate the body.

Observe the sleek black detailing encircling the window line and accentuating the ORVMs. A wide LED light bar integrated into the roof rack adds an adventurous touch. The rear showcases vertically stacked taillamps, tailgate with ‘Mahindra’ badging, bumper with two tow hooks and a mounted spare wheel within the bed. The Mahindra Scorpio N pickup distinguishes itself with an extended wheelbase, facilitating an enlarged load bed area. Expectations include potential variants available in single and double-cab body styles, alongside an option for a tray-back bed configuration.
