Royal Enfield is not taking a break even after the launch of its new competitors in the middleweight motorcycle segment – the Harley-Davidson X440 and Triumph Speed 400. The bikemaker has already announced its plan to launch the new-generation RE Bullet 350 in the first week of September 2023. Moreover, Royal Enfield has several other new models in the pipeline, currently undergoing testing. One of them is the upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 350, which was recently spotted testing on the company’s home turf in its near-production form.

The latest spy video sheds light on the Shotgun’s thumping exhaust note. It also reveals design elements that seem to be borrowed from the Super Meteor 650, especially the LED headlight and blacked-out engine casing. One can also notice the retro-styled round headlamp with chrome surrounding and a small retro taillamp with indicators. The bobber has a twin-seat setup and a single exhaust on the right side. The prototype features a speedometer console as well.

What will be familiar with the new Royal Enfield Shotgun 350 is its engine, which is borrowed from the Meteor 350. The bike will use the J-Series 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that’s good enough for 20.2PS and 27Nm of torque. The motor will be paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The RE Shotgun 350 is likely to come with traditional telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The braking power will come from the front and rear disc brakes. The new RE bobber might also be equipped with a single-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS).

As far as pricing is concerned, the new Royal Enfield Shotgun 350 is expected to cost around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will go head-to-head against the Jawa 42 Bobber and Jawa Perak. While an official launch timeline has not been announced yet, motorcycle enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting its arrival.
