Lexus India has launched the new Lexus LX in the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 2.82 crore (ex-showroom). The first batch of the luxury SUV is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2022, between January and March. The company will also showcase the LX 500d alongside the RX SUV and LC Coupe at the 2023 Auto Expo.
The Lexus LX exterior is based on the brand’s ‘Dignified Sophistication’ concept, featuring a massive frameless spindle-shaped front grille with horizontal slats. The luxury SUV comes with sharp LED headlamps with four projector LEDs and integrated daytime running lamps. It offers an imposing appeal of the SUV from the side, as it gets squared wheel arches, kinked window line and 22-inch alloy wheels. It comes with a top-hinged back door with split tail-lights along with an illuminated light bar.
Inside the cabin, the Lexus LX comes with a dual-screen setup for a free-standing 12.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. It comes equipped with four-zone climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, wireless charging, rear entertainment screens, and a panoramic sunroof. Customers can choose between 4 interior themes – Hazel, Black, Crimson, and White & Dark Sepia. Rear seat passengers will also get two 11.6-inch touchscreens with wireless remote control.
For safety & security, the Lexus LX comes with ADAS tech with features like rear cross-traffic alert, a tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, a digital rear-view mirror, and a 360 degree camera.
The new Lexus LX 500d is powered by the same 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine that powers the Land Cruiser. It is capable of producing 309bhp of power and 700Nm of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. All-wheel drive setup along with a multi-terrain model for off-roading comes as standard. It also offers multiple drive modes – Normal, Eco, Comfort, Sport S, Sport S+ and a custom mode.
