The much-awaited Kia Sonet sub-4 meter SUV is scheduled to be launched in the country tomorrow. Bookings for the SUV have already been started, and the interested buyers can pre-book the Sonet only or via official dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The Kia Sonet has been receiving excellent response buyers, as it recorded over 6,500 bookings in just 24 hours. The booking numbers are constantly rising, which suggests that the SUV will command a big waiting period. Dimensionally, the new Kia Sonet is 3,995mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,647mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,500Nm. The SUV has a ground clearance of 211mm, while boot space stands at 392-litres. It directly rivals the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Toyota Urban Cruiser.
The upcoming Kia Sonet will have two trim levels – Tech Line and GT Line – and in total of 6 trims – HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and GTX+. The new Sonet will be offered with 3 engine options – a 118bhp, 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol, a 82bhp, 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.5L turbocharged diesel engine with two states of tunes – 99bhp/240Nm and 113bhp/250Nm. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual (1.2L NA petrol), a 6-speed manual (1.5L diesel), a 6-speed torque convertor automatic (1.5L diesel), a 6-speed iMT (1.0L petrol) and a 7-speed DCT (1.0L Petrol).
