Here’s a list of top 4 upcoming new MPVs (Multi-Purpose Vehicles) in the Indian market in the first half of 2022.
Kia Carens – Korean automaker, Kia will launch the much-awaited Carens 7-seater MPV in the first quarter of 2022. Based on the modified SP2 platform, the new Kia Carens will rival the likes of the Suzuki XL6, Mahindra Marazzo and the entry-level variants of the Toyota Innova Crysta. The new model will be offered with 6- and 7-seat configurations.
The new model will be equipped with several high-end features such as LED lighting system, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, a fully digital instrument console, Bose sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, UVO connected car tech and others. The engine options will include a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo-diesel and a 1.4L turbo-petrol.
Ertiga & XL6 Facelifts – Maruti Suzuki will launch the updated version of the Ertiga in the early 2022. The updated model will receive minimal changes in the form of slightly revised front grille. The cabin is likely to remain unchanged, except for the few changes in the form of new upholstery & and new features.
MSIL will also launch the updated version of the 6-seater XL6 Crossover-MPV. The new model will receive some major changes in the form of significantly revised grille and new bumper. The cabin is also likely to get updated interior in the form of new colour scheme and features. Both models will be powered by a 1.5L NA petrol engine with manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
Renault Triber Turbo – the popular sub-4 meter MPV will receive a more powerful 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine that powers the Kiger and the Nissan Magnite. This engine churns out 100bhp and 160Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
