The eagerly awaited Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R has finally made its way to India. Priced at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India), this new inline 4-cylinder supersport motorcycle comes at a considerably higher price point compared to the Kawasaki Versys 650. In India, the base variant is available, whereas globally, the bike comes in three trims: Standard, SE, and ZX-4RR.

Engine Specs

Powering the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is a 399cc, 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This setup boasts a claimed power output of 79bhp at 14,500rpm and a torque of 37.6Nm at 12,500rpm.

Braking, Suspension System

Beneath its structure, the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R features a trellis frame, with suspension consisting of an upside-down fork from Showa at the front and an adjustable preload mono-shock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by twin 290mm discs at the front and a single 220mm disc at the rear, accompanied by dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) as a standard safety feature. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels, with front and rear tire sizes of 120/70 and 160/60, respectively.

Key Features

In terms of features, the Ninja ZX-4R boasts a 4.3-inch digital instrument console equipped with Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation and notification alerts. The motorcycle offers four distinct riding modes: Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider. Notably, the Rider mode is customizable, allowing riders to fine-tune traction control and power modes to their preferences.
