Jeep 7-Seater SUV Imagined As A Compact Wagoneer

It is no secret that American SUV maker, Jeep is readying an all-new 7-seater SUV for the growing markets including India and Brazil. The new SUV will be designed and developed on the FCA’s Small Wide 4×4 platform, which also underpins the Compass SUV. In India, the new Jeep 7-seater SUV will rival the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.

Digital artist, Kleber Silva has released a new rendering of the upcoming Jeep 7-seater SUV. The new rendering is heavily inspired by the Grand Wagoneer, which company revealed for the developed nations. In fact, the render has many similarities with the Wagoneer as Digital artist hasn’t made significant changes to the overall profile.

Jeep SUV imagined as Wagoneer

The render has Wagoneer’s grille; however, the lower bumper has been altered to give it a fresh feel. The side profile also looks identical to the Jeep’s flagship model; however, it looks smaller and has different alloys. The rear is also identical to the Wagoneer, but it has new tail-lamps and roof-integrated spoiler with brake lights.

It was speculated that the new Jeep 7-seater SUV will be a streched Compass; however, Jeep confirms that the new model will be a completely different product. The company will also tweak the platform to accommodate a bigger body. The SUV will have a longer wheelbase to accommodate third row of seats. The SUV will have larger overhangs and wider c-coloumn along with the flatter trunk lid to make room for the third-row of seats.

The 7-seater Jeep SUV will share the engine options with the Compass SUV. It will receive a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which will be tuned for higher power and torque. This engine is expected to produce around 200bhp of power and over 400Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV could also receive a 160bhp, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. The international-spec model will feature the new line of GSE turbo engines, which FCA group will produce later this year. The new SUV is expected to get the 1.3-litre Turbo Flex engine with power output close to 180bhp.
