Classic Legends re-introduced the iconic Jawa nameplate in 2018 with 3 new motorcycles. The motorcycles have received positive response from buyers. In order to further strengthen its position, Classic Legends is planning to re-introduce the iconic Yezdi nameplate along with an all-new cruiser motorcycle under the Jawa nameplate.
In fact, testing of the new Jawa cruiser has already been commenced. Going by the spy images, it is visible that the new cruiser will retain the retro-styling with features like round headlamp and rear-view mirrors, tear-drop shaped fuel tank and broader rear fender. The motorcycle will offer wider and comfortable seat.
The new Jawa Cruiser is expected to be based on the Perak’s platform, which could be modified to accommodate a cruiser-type bike. The motorcycle will have telescopic front forks and twin-shock rear suspension set-up. It will come with dual exhaust pipes. The spotted model had black treatments on crash guard, exhaust, engine and on wheels.
The upcoming Jawa Cruiser will have comfortable and upright riding stance with forward-set foot-pegs and raised, wide handlebar. It is likely to get a new digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity option.
The new motorcycle is likely to share the engine with the Perak, which is a 334cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC unit. This engine churns out 30.64PS of power and 32.74Nm of torque. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Engineers could tune this engine to suit the needs of a cruiser motorcycle. The motorcycle is likely to get disc brakes at both ends along with a dual-channel ABS system.
The new Jawa Cruiser is most likely to be launched in early 2022. It will rival the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, which has received excellent response from buyers. The new motorcycle is estimated to be priced around Rs 2 lakh.
