Hyundai Ioniq 5 Gets 650 Bookings; Deliveries Start in March

Hyundai Ioniq 5, the new electric crossover from the South Korean automaker, made its public debut at this year’s Auto Expo. The company also revealed its price at the event that stood at Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s introductory price that was meant for the first 500 bookings only. Compared to the Kia EV6 that costs between Rs 60.95 lakh – Rs 65.95 lakh, the Ioniq 5 is around Rs 16 lakh more affordable. While the former is a full import unit, the latter comes here via CKD (completely knocked down) route.

While Hyundai initially planned to deliver 250-300 units on annual basis, its bookings exceed expectations. The carmaker said that the Ioniq gathered over 650 bookings so far. Its deliveries will begin towards the end of March 2023.
