Korean automaker, Hyundai has launched two new variants of the i20 hatchback – 1.2L Asta (O) CVT and 1.0 Sportz DCT. While the former is priced at Rs 10.51 lakh, the Sportz DCT model costs Rs 9.76 lakh. Not just new variants, Hyundai has also updated the feature list of the new i20 hatchback.
Earlier, the Hyundai i20 Asta (O) trim was offered in manual avatar only. With the introduction of new 1.2 Asta (O) CVT variant, the top-spec model now offered with an automatic gearbox. Moreover, the DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) automatic gearbox is now available with the lower spec Sportz variant. Earlier, the DCT was offered on the top-spec Asta trim. The new Sportz DCT variant is about 1.05 lakh cheaper than the 1.0 Asta DCT.
It was reported that Hyundai will discontinue the top-spec 1.2 CVT Asta and 1.0 DCT Asta variants. However, the company’s official website reveals that these variants are available on sale.
New Features Added
Hyundai has also updated the feature-list of the Sportz variant. The vehicle now comes equipped with automatic AC instead of the manual AC. The Sportz DCT also comes with cruise control feature, which was earlier limited to Asta (O) variant.
The i20 Asta trim also comes equipped with a single pane sunroof as standard. The electric sunroof was offered only on the 1.0 iMT Asta variant. However, these variant gets a smaller 8-inch touchscreen instead of the 10.25-inch unit. Moreover, Hyundai has also removed some of the connected car features. The top-spec Asta (O) now gets additional voice commands for the Blue Link system. The lower-spec Magna trim gets different wheels finished in gun metal shade.
It is offered in 3 engine options – a 83bhp, 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol, a 118bhp, 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 99bhp, 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel.
