Hyundai Grand i10 Discontinued? Removed From Website!

Korean automaker, Hyundai has silently removed the old Grand i10 hatchback from its official website. This suggests that the hatchback has been discontinued from the market. It was a previous generation model sold alongside the new-gen Grand i10 Nios. This comes as a surprise, as the old Grand i10 was receiving good response from buyers.

Not just Grand i10, Hyundai discontinued the corporate edition trims of the Santro and the Grand i10 Nios. Adding to it, the Hyundai Venue 1.0L Turbo petrol with manual transmission has also been discontinued from the market.

The Hyundai Grand i10 was offered in a single petrol engine option. It was powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns out 82bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. It was offered in 2 variants – Magna and Sportz – priced at Rs 5.91 lakh and Rs 5.99 lakh respectively.

Hyundai is now selling 3 hatchbacks – the Santro, Grand i10 Nios and the new-gen i20 hatchback – in the country. The Santro is available in the price bracket of Rs 4.63 lakh to Rs 6 lakh, while the Grand i10 Nios costs between Rs 5.13 lakh and Rs 8.21 lakh. The new-gen Hyundai i20 is priced at Rs 6.80 lakh for the base variant, which goes up to Rs 11.33 lakh for the top-end variant.

Hyundai is also readying an entry-level micro SUV, codenamed AX1. Likely to be launched in early 2022, the new micro SUV will rival the Maruti Ignis and the Tata Hornbill. It has already been caught testing in Korea. The mini SUV is rumoured to be based on the new Santro’s platform.
