Hyundai Creta EV – All Details We Know So Far

Hyundai Motor India introduced the significantly updated Creta earlier this year, followed by the Creta N Line. With an aim to further capitalize on the Creta brand and expand its electric product portfolio, the company is preparing the Hyundai Creta EV, currently in its testing phase. While its official launch timeline and details are yet to be revealed, the electric SUV is expected to debut towards the end of this year, with its market launch likely happening in the first quarter of 2025. Here, it will be positioned against Maruti Suzuki’s forthcoming eVX concept-based SUV and the Tata Curvv EV.

The design and styling of the Hyundai Creta EV will be similar to its facelifted ICE counterpart, though expect it to feature some EV-specific design elements. Fresh spy images of its interior reveal that the Creta electric will feature the Ioniq 5-like steering wheel, missing the brand logo. Its central portion, which will be more rounded than the regular unit, will have a chrome trim all around and a horizontal chrome strip in the center. There will be a drive selector placed behind the steering wheel on the right side.

The Creta EV will source most of its features from the regular Creta, including a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity and OTA updates, instrument unit, leather upholstery, power-adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated seats, USB charger, cruise control, glove box cooling, rear AC vents, and Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car tech. In fact, it will offer all safety features available on the ICE-powered Creta.

Reports suggest that the Hyundai Creta EV could share its powertrain with the global-spec Kona EV, which comes with a 45kWh battery pack and an electric motor fitted at the front axle. It would be premature to comment on its range, though the new electric SUV from Hyundai is expected to deliver a range between 400 – 450km.
