Hyundai Alcazar has longer wheelbase than Tata Safari & MG Hector

Hyundai is all set to unveil the much-awaited Alcazar 7-seater SUV, which will be positioned between the Creta and the Tucson. It is based on the new Creta’s platform; however, it rides on longer wheelbase. In fact, the overall length has been significantly increased to accommodate third row of seats; however, Hyundai hasn’t reveal the overall dimensions.

The new Hyundai Alcazar has a long wheelbase of 2,760mm, which is 150mm more than the 5-seater Creta (2610mm wheelbase). In fact, the Alcazar wheelbase is 19mm and 10mm higher than the Tata Safari and the MG Hector respectively. This suggests that the new Alcazar won’t be a compromised model, and will offer good space inside the cabin.

There is an assist grip handle on the rear door, which further improves the third row access.

The Hyundai Alcazar will come with two engine options – a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel and a 2.0-litre petrol. The petrol engine produces 159PS of power and 192Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in under 10 seconds. The diesel engine produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque.
