Honda’s Future Plan For India – 3 All-New Models

Honda Cars India is embarking on an exciting journey to revitalize its presence in the Indian automotive landscape. Confronted with the challenges of an aging product lineup and evolving emission standards, the company is gearing up for a remarkable transformation. This ambitious revival strategy encompasses the introduction of three to four all-new models. Leading the charge is the eagerly anticipated subcompact SUV, slated to replace the now-discontinued WR-V. While specific product details remain scarce at this juncture, it’s anticipated to offer a choice of two petrol engines, namely 1.2L and 1.5L.

Additionally, Honda will make significant strides in the electric vehicle segment, with the electric version of the recently launched Elevate mid-size SUV. This model is set to compete against popular rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara. Speculations suggest that the Honda Elevate EV will boast an impressive range of over 400 kilometers on a full charge. The SUV’s platform is expected to undergo substantial modifications to accommodate a battery pack and an electric motor that could be positioned on the front axle.

In 2024, Indian consumers can eagerly anticipate the arrival of the all-new Honda Amaze, a compact sedan promising a comprehensive makeover, including enhanced design and features. Furthermore, major upgrades will be implemented beneath the surface as well. The design and styling cues for the all-new Amaze will draw inspiration from the new City sedan and the globally sold Accord. With this generational shift, the sedan could also receive the Honda Sensing Suite, incorporating advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) technology.

The suite is poised to offer an array of features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane assist. Some of these features may be borrowed from the new Elevate SUV. Powering the new Amaze is likely to be the existing 1.2L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, offered with both manual and CVT gearbox options. Furthermore, there are rumors circulating that Honda may take on the Hyundai Alcazar by introducing a three-row SUV, further expanding its SUV portfolio.
