Honda HR-V India Launch In Late 2021 – 5 Important Facts

Honda has been evaluating the India launch of the HR-V SUV for some time now. According to a fresh media report, the Japanese carmaker is now gearing up to bring in the Honda HR-V in India to challenge Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and upcoming Citroen SUV. Globally, the SUV will receive a generation change next year. The new model will be bigger and well-equipped than the existing one and come with a new hybrid powertrain. The production-ready Honda HRV will make its global debut in coming March and the India launch might happen towards the end of 2021.  

Honda’s Global Platform

The 2021 Honda HR-V will be the first production car to be designed on Honda’s new Global platform that will also be used in the new Fit. The carmaker has already said that the products based on the new architecture will be designed and developed for the Asian region and South American countries. The new scalable platform will enable the brand save up to 30% man-hour by 2025 and focus more on the new-generation technology development.

Bigger & More Spacious

Compared to the current generation, the new Honda HRV will be bigger and more cabin space to offer. Its length and wheelbase are likely to be increased. The new architecture will make the SUV lighter and stiffer than before. It will also aid to its over performance and fuel efficiency.

Significant Cosmetic Updates

– Design details of the 2021 Honda HRV are still under the wraps. Though, it’s likely to witness some noticeable cosmetic upgrades including a wide front grille, the signature nose grille with LED headlamps, dual-tone machine cut alloys, thick cladding around the wheel arches and bold LED taillamps. New Features

Interior could be packed with several advanced goodies. The SUV will come with a new touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car features and more.

Multiple Engine-Gearbox Options

As mentioned above, the new Honda HR-V will be made available with a hybrid powertain. It will include a 1.5L turbo petrol engine with two electric motors. Globally, the SUV will also be offered with three more engine options including 1.5L turbo petrol, 1.8L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5 turbo diesel. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
