Honda Elevate SUV First Look Video

Honda Cars India has recently revealed the much-awaited Elevate mid-sized SUV, which will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara & others. Designed at the Honda’s R&D centre in Thailand, the Honda Elevate SUV will be locally produced for The Indian market. The SUV will also be exported from India to select international markets.

Honda Elevate First Look

Design

The overall styling of the Honda Elevate is a mix of several global Honda SUVs including the HR-V, WR-V and the Pilot. The SUV has the typical upright stance with front heavily inspired from the Pilot SUV. The new model has a big square grille with black horizontal slat. There is chrome bar that runs above the front grille connecting the sleek LED headlamps and the horizontal LED daytime running lamps. It has a straight bonnet line, tall roof rails, a shark fin antenna and multi-spoke alloy wheels. The rear profile resembles the new WR-V and the older Vitara Brezza. It has inverted L-shaped LED tail-lights, shark fin antenna, dual-tone bumper and a roof integrated spoiler.

In terms of proportions, the new Honda Elevate is 4.3 meters in length, 1.8 meters in width and 1.65 meters in height. The SUV has a ground clearance of 220mm and a wheelbase of 2.65 meters. The dimensions are in-line with the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Grand Vitara.

The cabin of the new Honda Elevate is a major departure from the existing Honda sedans – the Amaze and the City. It comes with a multi-layered dashboard with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and a 7-inch TFT display for instrumentation. It comes with a dual-tone interior scheme with a black and brown colour palette. In terms of features, the SUV gets wireless phone charging, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, cruise control, and an electric sunroof. It also has a lane watch camera features with a camera mounted on the left wing mirror, which shows the rear traffic on touchscreen unit on using the turn indicator.

The SUV misses out on some of the features that are accessible in most of its rivals. It lacks features like panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a 360 degree camera, and a digital driver display.

ADAS Tech

The new Honda Elevate comes equipped with a wide range of safety features including six airbags, lane watch assist, ABS with EBD, electronically stability program and others. The SUV also comes with advanced driver assistance system with features like auto high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, lead car departure alert, lane keep assist and others.

The new mid-sized SUV is based on the fifth generation City platform. Not just platform, the SUV borrows the engine setup from its sedan sibling. It is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 119bhp and a peak torque of 145Nm. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic unit.
