Honda is all set to announce the prices of the new Elevate mid-sized SUV on September 4, 2023. The new Honda Elevate will rival the segment-leaders like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, VW Taigun & the Skoda Kushaq. The new Hyundai Creta has been the best-selling SUV in its segment with close to 12,000 units sold per month since its inception in late 2020.
What’s interesting is that close to 60 per cent of the buyers are opting for the Creta 1.5L naturally-aspirated version with high shares for automatic variants. On the other hand, the Honda Elevate will come in a single 1.5-litre i-VTEC naturally-aspirated petrol engine that powers the City sedan. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT.

The Honda Elevate’s 1.5 NA engine is the most powerful naturally-aspirated engine on sale in its segment. This powertrain is capable of producing 121PS and 145Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Creta’s 1.5L NA engine produces 115PS and 145Nm of torque. While the Creta has a ground clearance of 190mm, the Honda Elevate offers the segment-largest ground clearance of 220mm.
The new Elevate is based on the Honda’s Global Small Car Platform that also underpins the new City sedan. It measures 4312mm in length, 1790mm in width and 1650mm in height with a wheelbase of 2650mm. On the other hand, the Creta is 4300mm long, 1790mm wide and 1635mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2610mm. While the Elevate offers a boot space of 458-litres, the Creta has a luggage carrying capacity of 433-litres.
