Honda 2Wheelers India has unveiled the Dio 125 scooter in two variants – Standard and Smart. With a price tag of Rs 83,400, the entry-level Standard variant offers excellent value for money, while the Smart model is priced at Rs 91,300. This puts the new Dio 125 in direct competition with the Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi-Hybrid and Suzuki Avenis, which fall within the price range of Rs 84,230 – Rs 91,330 and Rs 87,800 – Rs 92,300, respectively. It’s worth noting that these prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Let’s start with the heart of the Dio 125 – its engine. Powering the scooter is a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that delivers a respectable 8.14bhp at 6,000rpm and 10.3Nm at 5,000rpm. This is the same engine found in the Grazia and Activa 125, enhanced with Honda’s eSP technology, idle start/stop functionality, and an automatic choke system. The engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission for smooth operation.
The suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, ensuring a comfortable ride. The Dio 125 features a ‘wavy’ pattern disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear for reliable stopping power. The scooter is equipped with alloy wheels, complemented by 12-inch front and 10-inch rear tires. With a ground clearance of 171mm and an 18-liter underseat storage capacity, the Dio 125 offers practicality along with performance.
The Smart variant of the Dio 125 comes exclusively with a key fob, adding convenience and security. It also boasts a digital instrument cluster, a dual-function switch for opening the external fuel filler cap and underseat boot, an LED headlight, and a side-stand indicator.
In terms of warranty, Honda is offering an impressive 10-year warranty for the new Dio 125, including 3 years as standard and an additional 7 years as an extended warranty.
