We reported earlier that Honda will unveil the production version of the SUV RS concept at the 2022 GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto Show). However, the company has presented the production model with heavy camouflage. For people not in the know, the Honda Compact SUV RS concept was first showcased to public at the last year’s GIIAS.
The production version of the new Honda compact SUV RS will be unveiled in near future and will go on sale in Indonesia later this year. Compared to the original model, the new Small SUV RS has a much toned down design. The new Honda compact SV RS production model has recently been leaked on the Internet.
Based on the leaked images, the new Honda compact SUV RS has a more conventional front grille with the chrome studded RS treatment that’s been offered on the new HR-V RS. Similar to the concept, the production model had a chrome bar on the top of the grille. The headlamp design has also been altered and appears larger than the sharp looking one of the 2021 concept.
The lower bumper has stylish fog lamps, silver skid plate-style trim with three notches, and wider air-dam. The front appears more upright compared to the concept model. The rear profile has also been completely changed when compared to the first concept. The concept had a steep, sloping rear screen and full-width LED signatures. The production model comes with more conventional angles and tail-lamp clusters. It has a roof-integrated spoiler, a 3D-style tail-lamps with inverted L-shaped LED signatures and silver trim on the diffuser area.
Honda Compact SUV India
Honda is also preparing a new compact SUV for the Indian market, which is reportedly to be launched sometime in 2023. Production of the new Honda compact SUV is reportedly to be commenced in August 2023. It will be based on Honda’s Amaze platform, which is versatile enough to accommodate different body styles and engine options. The new model will rival the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon and the Mahindra XUV300.
