Hero To Launch Two 400cc Bikes, New Karizma – More Details

Hero MotoCorp is preparing a wide range of new motorcycles for the Indian market. Apart from the Harley-Davidson’s entry-level X440, Hero MotoCorp will launch the new Xtreme 160R, Karizma XMR, updated Xtreme 200S 4V and two new 400cc motorcycles. The updated Xtreme 160R will be launched on June 14 and will be offered with USD forks and 4-Valve powertrain. In fact, the Xtreme 200S has already been spotted in production form at a dealership.

Hero MotoCorp will re-introduce the iconic nameplate Karizma in the Indian market. The motorcycle was last introduced with the ZMR suffix. On the other hand, the new Karizma motorcycle will return with the XMR suffix. The new Karizma XMR was recently showcased to dealerships in production avatar. The motorcyle comes with all-new sporty design with sharper front fascia and aggressive fairing, sleeker tail-section and raised handlebar. It will be powered by a 210cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 25bhp and 30Nm of torque, and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle will have conventional telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. The new model is expected to be priced aggressively, most likely around Rs 1.8 lakh. Hero MotoCorp is also testing the new Xpulse 400 adventure bike, which will be equipped with a bigger capacity engine. The new ADV will be built around a new 421cc engine, which will have performance to rival the KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming new RE Himalayan 450. This powertrain is likely to produce around 40bhp of power and close to 35Nm of torque. Hero 400cc sport tourer

The new 421cc liquid-cooled engine will act as a platform that will be used to accommodate different motorcycles. The company is also testing a fully-faired sports tourer, which was spotted alongside the XPulse 400 on the Himalayan roads. The new motorcycle is expected to receive clip-on handlebars, fairing mounted mirrors, conventional telescopic front forks, digital instrument console, disc brakes, dual-channel ABS and others.
