The Tata Nexon is ready to hit roads with heavily updated exterior, interior and a more powerful petrol engine. While its official launch date and details are yet to be revealed, the compact SUV’s new model is reported to go on sale by August 2023. It will enter into a series production by July and the company aims to manufacture around 15,000 units per month. The carmaker’s Ranjangaon based facility will serve as production hub for the new 2023 Tata Nexon facelift.
Design and styling of the Nexon’s updated model will be inspired by the Tata Curvv SUV coupe concept that was previewed at the 2023 Auto Expo. Most of the changes will be made at the front end including a newly-designed grille with diamond-shaped inserts and headlamps placed slightly lower down. It will have more upright stance and a flatter nose than the existing model.
Moving to the sides, the SUV might get a new set of alloy wheels. A few changes will also be made at the rear section. The tailgate design could be flatter along with the tweaked rear bumper and taillamps connected via LED light bar.
Inside, the new 2023 Tata Nexon facelift is likely to offer a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system as we have seen in the updated Harrier and Safari. Other major updates might include a digital instrument cluster, a bigger sunroof, 360 degree camera and cooled seats. Speculations are on rife that the subcompact SUV could be offered with the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. If it happens, the new Nexon will become the first vehicle in its segment to offer ADAS tech.
As mentioned above, Tata might equip the Nexon facelift with the new 1.2L turbo petrol engine delivering a maximum power of 125bhp and 225Nm of torque. Just so you know, the SUV’s existing version promises power worth 120bhp and 170Nm of torque. The 1.5L diesel engine will also be on offer.
