Back in 2019, Harley Davidson announced its partnership with Chinese two-wheeler maker Qianjiang (the parent company of Benelli). There were no official details about the upcoming project from the joint venture; however, speculations were on rife that the JV will develop a new entry-level roadster. The new roadster will be sold under the Harley Davidson nameplate.
The new motorcycle is rumoured to be based on the Benelli 302S platform and would be produced for the Asian markets. Harley Davidson had also revealed the 338R Street Tracker concept based on 302S, which was equipped with a different engine. While details about the new product are yet to be revealed, a new set of images of a Harley Davidson concept have emerged online. The new motorcycle features a typical Harley Davidson styling. The images reveal a conventional cruiser motorcycle with Harley’s traditional design elements.
New Engine
The report claims that the new motorcycle will receive a new 296cc V-twin motor, which is expected to produce around 30bhp of power. The specifications are not exceptional; however, the cruiser is claimed to offer a low kerb weight of 163kgs. This means that the bike will have a healthy power to weight ratio and spirited performance.
Called SRV300, the new motorcycle shares styling cues from Harley Davidson’s popular Iron 883 cruiser. The new bike features a water-cooled, overhead-cam V-Twin motor and upside-down front forks. The motorcycle has all-black alloy wheels with polished highlights on the edges of the black-painted spokes. The guard for the belt final drive copies the holed look of the Harley’s.
The motorcycle rides on 16-inch front wheel and 15-inch wheel at the rear. The SRV300 is claimed to offer a wheelbase of 1400mm, while the top-speed is rated at 129kmph. The motorcycle gets a dual-channel ABS system as standard. The motorcycle has a typical low stance and forward-set footpegs for comfortable ride. The motorcycle features teardrop-shaped fuel tank and an old-school round headlamp.
