Citroen C3X Launch By Mid 2024 -Honda City, Hyundai Verna Rival

Citroen made a notable entry into the Indian automotive market in April 2021 with the premium C5 Aircross SUV, and subsequently expanded its portfolio with the C3 Aircross, C3 hatchback, and eC3 electric hatch. Now, the French automaker sets its sights on the mid-size sedan segment with the upcoming C3X, positioning itself to compete with established players such as the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.

Expected to hit the roads by mid-2024, potentially in June or July, the Citroen C3X represents a crossover sedan with an SUV-inspired stance and elevated ground clearance, measuring around 4.3 meters in length. A notable point of interest is Citroen’s plan to introduce an electric iteration of the C3X in early 2025.

The C3X will be underpinned by the same modular CMP platform found in the brand’s C-Cubed models. While specific powertrain details are yet to be officially confirmed, early reports suggest the possibility of the C3X featuring the 1.2L turbo petrol engine, delivering a robust 110bhp. This engine is currently in use in the C3 hatchback, and buyers can expect both manual and automatic gearbox options.

Recent spy images of the C3X’s interior have revealed key features, including a three-spoke steering wheel, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and vertical AC vents. The infotainment unit is expected to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Additional feature details are anticipated to be unveiled in the near future.

In terms of design, the Citroen C3X will draw inspiration from the C3 Aircross, though its front fascia is set to be distinct. Notable exterior features include newly-designed alloy wheels, a blacked-out B-pillar, plastic cladding around the body, and new wraparound LED taillamps. The sedan will showcase a tapering roofline and a notchback tailgate.
