Citroen C3 Turbo Petrol To Get More Standard Safety Features

Citroen C3, the first mass-market product from the French automaker in India, will soon receive an update in the country. According to a fresh media report, the company will introduce the C3 turbo petrol version meeting the BS6 Phase 2 emission standards. The updated version will go on sale in May 2023. Besides the BS6 Phase 2 complaint motor, the hatchback’s turbo-petrol variants will get more standard safety features. The kit will include hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability programme and idle auto start stop.

The 2023 Citroen C3 turbo petrol will use the update 1.2L engine making power worth 110PS and 190Nm of torque. It will be available with the same 6-speed manual gearbox. With all aforementioned upgrades, the turbo-petrol variants of the C3 will cost slightly premium than before. At present, the hatchback model lineup comes within the price range of Rs 6.16 lakh – Rs 7.87 lakh (ex-showroom). Recently, the company added a new Shine variant with the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine.

The French automaker confirmed that its next product for India will be a midsize SUV, called Citroen C3 Aircross. The model will be unveiled on 27th April and its market launch is likely to happen in the next couple of months. It will be based on the C3 hatchback and put up against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara. The spy images reveal that the new Citroen SUV will carry headlamps with split setup and slim DLRs, the signature grille, and sporty bumper at the front. It will have higher ground clearance.

If reports are to be believed, Citroen C3 Aircross will initially be introduced with 5-seats arrangement and its 7-seater version will come later. Similar to the C3 hatchback, the midsize SUV will use the 1.2L turbo petrol engine with both manual and automatic gearbox.
