BYD (Build Your Dreams), the Chinese automaker, has showcased its newly-launched Atto 3 electric SUV at the 2023 Auto Expo. At the event, the carmaker has introduced a new Forest Green colour for the model that costs Rs 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Only 1200 units of the new colour variants will sold in the country. The BYD Atto 3 EV (other colours) has been priced at Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s the second offering from BYD in India after the E6 MPV. Deliveries of the model will begin in coming days. Powertrain setup of the BYD Atto 3 includes a 60.48kWh Blade battery pack and a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor mounted at the front axle. The electric motor delivers a claimed power of 201bhp and 310Nm of torque. It can do 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds.
Boosted with the regenerative braking system, the new BYD electric SUV offers an ARAI-rated range of 521km on single charge. Its battery pack can be juiced up in 10 hours by using a 7kW AC charger and in 50 minutes via an 80kW DC fast charger. BYD is also providing a 7kW home charger and a 3kW portable charging box with the Atto 3. Interestingly, it’s 3.3kW, Vehicle to Load function enables its battery pack to power external electrical appliances.
The company is offering a battery warranty of 8 years/1.6 lakh kilometres (whichever comes earlier) and the motor and motor controller warranty of 8 years/1.5 lakh kilometres along with the 6 years or 1.5 lakh kilometres warranty for the vehicle.
The BYD Atto 3 is also available with a 3 year free 4G data subscription, 6 free maintenance services and 6 year roadside assistance. The electric SUV can be had in four colour schemes – Ski White, Boulder Grey, Parkour Red and Surf Blue.
In terms of features, the BYD Atto 3 offers a 12.8-inch rotating central screen with the latest smartphone connectivity, a 5.0-inch digital instrument cluster, powered front driver and passenger seats, a wireless phone charger, synthetic leather upholstery, multi-coloured ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate and more.
