BMW has launched the new MINI Shadow Edition in the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom). Locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, the new MINI Shadow Edition is available in Petrol and is based on the Countryman Cooper S JCW Inspired. Only 24 units are available and can be booked exclusively on shop.mini.in.
The MINI Shadow Edition comes with unique Shadow Edition Bonnet Scoop decals, Front Fender decals, Side Scuttles, Door Entry Sills, and Shadow Edition Stickers on roof above C-pillars. The new limited edition Mini features 18-inch Grip Spoke alloy wheels and the John Cooper Works Aerodynamics Kit, as well as Leather Chester Malt Brown Upholstery, Electric Seat Adjustment for front occupants, Panorama Sunroof, Wired Package, Apple CarPlay, Multifunctional Instrument Display and Harman Kardon Hi-Fi Sound System as standard.
On the outside, the limited edition model comes with an all-black with melting silver roof and mirror caps. The Piano black exterior trim comes with special double matt paint on exterior decals. The MINI Shadow Edition comes with MINI Yours Interior Style Shaded Silver and Leather Chester Malt Brown upholstery. It features LED interior and ambient lighting which illuminates the cockpit with a choice of selectable colours as well as a projection of the MINI logo from the exterior mirror on the driver’s side when opening & closing the car door.
The new Limited Edition Mini comes with features like the Harman Kardon Hi-Fi Speaker System, Panorama Glass Sunroof, MINI wired package including MINI Navigation System with Touch Controller & Bluetooth mobile connectivity. The iconic circular central instrument panel is surrounded by an LED ring offering a brilliant colour display in 8.8-inch touchscreen.
Powering the MINI Shadow Edition is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine that produces 178bhp at 5000-6000rpm and a peak torque of 280Nm at 1,350-4,600rpm. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 7.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 225kmph. This engine is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch Steptronic Sport transmission, and features paddle shifters for spirited driving experience.
The limited edition is available with a choice of SPORT and GREEN mode. It also gets driver assistance systems including Cruise Control, Park Distance Control, and Rear View Camera. For safety and security, the MINI Shadow Edition gets front and passenger airbags, brake assist, dynamic stability control (DSC), ABS, Cornering brake control, etc.
