Benelli 502C Bookings Open; Launch In Coming Weeks

The Italian bike manufacturer has finally unveiled its first-ever cruiser – Benelli 502C – for the Indian market. The new motorcycle will see a release towards the end of this month. Interested buyers can pre-book the model by paying an initial sum of Rs 10,000. While its official price will be announced in the last week of July, the Benelli 502 C cruiser is expected to be priced around Rs 20,000 premium over the Leoncino 500. The latter one is currently available at Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom).

At the heart of the Benelli 502C is a 500cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, inline engine, which is linked to a 6-speed gearbox. The transmission unit delivers power to the rear wheel via a chain drive. The motor has been tuned for delivering a maximum power of 47bhp at 8,500rpm and 45Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. The same powertrain does duty in the Leoncino 500. The new Benelli cruiser underpins a tubular steel trellis frame and offers a seat height of 750mm. It has a ground clearance of 175mm and a fuel tank capacity of 21.5-litres.

For performing suspension duties, the Benelli 502 C has upside-down front forks and an adjustable rear monoshock unit. Its braking system comprises twin 280mm rotors with radially-mounted brake calipers and 240mm disc at the front and rear axles respectively. A dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) comes as standard fitment. The new cruiser bike from Benelli sits on 1,600mm of wheelbase, which is equivalent to the Ducati Diavel 1260. In fact, it shares some of its design elements with the Diavel 1260.

The Benelli 502C comes with the full-LED lighting, a single-piece seat, adjustable footrest, low slung stance and minimal tail section. It runs on 120-section front and 160-section rear tyres fitted on the 17-inch rims. The cruiser has been equipped with a TFT instrument cluster featuring day/night mode that changes automatically.
