Hyundai Motor India is all set to bring in one of its major products this year – the next-generation Verna sedan. Prices of the sedan will be announced on 15th March, while its deliveries are reported to begin by mid April 2023. The production of the new 2023 Hyundai Verna is already underway at the company’s Chennai plant. The manufacturing plant will also serve as production hub for its export markets. Engine setup of the sedan will include a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5L turbo petrol unit. While the former makes power worth 113bhp with 114Nm with a 6-speed manual and an iVT gearbox, the latter is good for 160bhp and 253Nm with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. With the new turbo-petrol motor, the 2023 Hyundai Verna will become the most powerful car in its category. Both motors will be E20 ethanol-blend fuel compliant.
Major feature upgrade will come in the form of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), thus making it safer than before. The suite will offer advanced safety features such as forward collision avoidance assist, forward collision warning, rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist, lane departure warning, driver attention warning, blind spot indication, emergency braking system and autonomous emergency braking system.
With the generation change, the Verna will receive three new monotone colours – Atlas White, Tellurian Brown and Abyss Black. The sedan will also grow in size. On the exterior, there will be a newly-designed grille, bumper and headlamps with split setup. Moving towards the side, you will notice the diamond cut alloy wheels and a sloping roofline. The all-new Hyundai Verna will also get updated LED taillamps and an LED bar running across the width of the boot lid.
