All-new Honda WR-V 2023 To Be Unveiled Today – What To Expect

The much-awaited new-gen Honda WR-V 2023 is scheduled to make global debut in Indonesia today. Based on the Honda SUV RS concept, the new compact SUV will challenge the likes of the Toyota Raize, Daihatsu Rocky, Nissan Magnite and Kia Sonet. It will be based on the same platform as its older sibling, the new Honda BR-V.

In terms of styling, the new Honda WR-V 2023 will share the design cues from the bigger Honda SUVs including BR-V and the HR-V. The leaked spy images reveal that the front fascia of the new model will have a combination of the Brio and the BR-V, and the headlamp unit will be inspired by the all-new Honda Civic. The rear design will share the styling cues from the new HR-V. It will come with a more conventional front grille with chrome studded RS treatment that’s similar to the new HR-V RS. It will have a roof integrated spoiler, a 3D-style tail-lights with inverted L-shaped LED signatures and silver trim on the diffuser.

Indonesian-media reports that the Honda WR-V 2023 will come in 2 trims, namely E and RS with different wheels. The interior of the new compact SUV is likely be shared with the new BR-V and the City sedan. It is expected to get a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, connected car tech, a multi-functional steering wheel, a semi-digital instrument console, automatic AC with rear AC vents, an electric sunroof and others.

It is expected that the all-new Honda WR-V 2023 will be powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that churns out 121PS of power and 145Nm of torque. Transmission choices are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. This is the same powertrain that powers the City sedan. The company could also offer a strong hybrid powertrain with the new WR-V.

The all-new Honda WR-V is also expected to arrive in our market as a sub-4 meter SUV. The Indonesian-spec model will measure around 4.1 meters in length. Moreover, Honda could also offer a 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine with a strong hybrid tech called the e:HEV. The India-spec model is also likely to get the 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine with manual and CVT gearboxes.
