Force Motors has officially announced that the new gen Gurkha will make India debut on September 15, 2021. The all-new Force Gurkha was first unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. Force Motors has already released multiple teasers revealing some details. In fact, clear pictures of the SUV have already been circulated on the Internet.
The all-new Force Gurkha styling is identical to the previous model, retaining the boxy and upright design. However, it gets more modern design elements and new body panels. The body shell and the chassis have been upgraded to meet the latest safety regulations. It comes with all-new LED headlamps with DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), a new grille, larger windows and new bumpers.
The all-new Force Gurkha retains the snorkel and the 4x4x4 badge, which was also offered on the previous model. The cabin has also been revised with more modern comfort & convenience features. The SUV will get captain seats for the second row instead of the side facing bench seats in the previous models. The vehicle could also gets jump seats, which was offered on the pre-production model. The teaser confirms that the production-spec Gurkha will get a matte-black finished dashboard and centre console.
The new Gurkha will also come equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, armrest for the rear passengers, rear wiper and air conditioning unit. Like the previous model, Force Motors will also give several customisation options with the new Gurkha.
The all-new Force Gurkha will be powered by a BSVI compliant 2.6-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which is capable of producing 90bhp of power and 260Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Four-wheel-drive layout will be offered as standard, along with locking front and rear differentials. For suspension system, the new model will get independent double-wishbones up front and five-link, rigid-axle unit at the rear.
The new Force Gurkha will target the off-road enthusiasts. It will be positioned against the second generation Mahindra Thar. The new Gurkha is expected to be priced between Rs 9 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.
