After Himalayan, Royal Enfield To Launch New Hunter 450 In India

Royal Enfield is very aggressive with its product strategy for the highly competitive Indian auto market. The company had introduced the new Himalayan 450 and the Shotgun 650 in the past 3-4 months. A wide range of new Royal Enfield motorcycles are also under development with engine capacity ranging from 350cc to 650cc. RE is also planning to launch multiple new motorcycles on the new 450cc engine that debuts in the Himalayan 450.

Royal Enfield is developing an all-new Scrambler based on the Himalayan motorcycle. This bike will come as a replacement for the RE Scram 411, which was based on the previous Himalayan ADV. However, not many likes an adventure tourer or a Scrambler and looking for a more useful all-round motorcycle for daily needs. Keeping this in mind, Royal Enfield is preparing the Hunter 450 that has already been spotted couple of times on the Indian roads.

2024 Royal Enfield Himalayan First Look

The exact launch timeline for the Royal Enfield Hunter 450 is yet to be revealed, but we expect the new motorcycle could go on sale in the fag end of this year. The new motorcycle will be more affordable than the Himalayan 450. RE won’t offer some of the premium features that are accessible in the adventure tourer.

The new Royal Enfield Hunter 450 will look largely identical to the existing 350cc model; however, it will have some new features. The motorcycle will have alloy wheels and bigger discs at both ends along with dual-channel ABS as standard. `Instead of upside down forks and long-travel suspension, the new Hunter 450 will have telescopic front forks. The motorcycle will also receive a monoshock unit at the rear.

Similar to the Hunter 350, the new Hunter 450 will mainly target urban riders. The motorcycle is also likely to source the instrument console with in-built google Maps. It will have a comfortable single-seat setup, slightly rear-set foot pegs and low-set handlebars to give a more sporty riding experience. It will be powered by a new 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 40bhp and 40Nm of torque. Called the Sherpa 450, this engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.
