A Special Mahindra XUV700 To Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra: Anand Mahindra

India scripted history at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, thanks to athlete Neeraj Chopra win. The 23-year-old won the Men’s Javelin Gold medal. Now, gifts are raining for the Golden boy of India. A twitter user wanted Anand Mahindra to gift a Mahindra XUV700 for ‘golden boy’ Neeraj Chopra.

Twitter user Ritesh Jain tagged the Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra, and demand XUV700 for the Neeraj Chopra. Anand Mahindra replied saying that it will be his privilege to gift golden boy Neeraj Chopra an XUV700.

What’s interesting is that Mahindra could develop a special edition of the Mahindra XUV700, which is confirmed by Pratap Bose, the Chief Design Officer, Auto & Farm Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. In a tweet, Mr Bose said “So many awesome suggestions coming in for the Special Edition of the #NeerajGoldChopra @MahindraXUV700! We have some ideas cooking at the @MahindraRise Design Studios! Will share more soon!

It is expected that the Neeraj Chopra could be the first owner of the new Mahindra XUV700. The new model is rumoured to be unveiled on August 15, 2021. It is expected that the official announcement of the new XUV700 Special Edition for the Golden Boy on the Independence Day, 2021. If reports are to be believed, the new Mahindra XUV700 will be launched on October 2, 2021.

The Mahindra XUV700 is undoubtedly the most awaited SUV of 2021. The SUV has been spotted testing numerous times, which reveals that it will be the most feature-loaded and tech-friendly in its segment. It will come with segment-first ADAS  (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with features like adaptive cruise control, drowsiness detection, blind spot detection, autonomous braking and lane-keep assist. The SUV will also get air purifier with virus protection, Smart Door Handles, Auto Booster Headlamps, Personalised Safety Alert System and the Segment-Largest Panoramic Sunroof.

The Mahindra XUV700 will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0L mStallion turbocharged petrol and a 2.2L turbocharged diesel. While the former can produce up to 188bhp and 380Nm, the oil burner is likely to offer around 185bhp of power. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The SUV could also receive a mild hybrid system.
