Maruti Swift Facelift

Maruti Suzuki will introduce the cosmetically updated version of the Swift hatchback in the Indian market. The new model will come with design changes and hybrid engine option. In terms of styling upgrades, the Swift facelift will have new front grille with honeycomb-mesh pattern and chrome trim, revised bumper and slightly reshaped LED headlamps.

The cabin is likely to receive minimal changes in the form of new colour scheme and upholstery. The India-spec Swift facelift will receive a new 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine that also powers the Dzire facelift. This engine is capable of producing 91PS of power and 118Nm of torque. Compared to the existing engine, the new Dualjet unit offers more power and torque. Both manual and AMT versions will be on offer. It is expected to deliver over 23kmpl and 24kmpl of mileage with manual and AMT transmissions respectively.

Next-gen Maruti Celerio

Maruti Suzuki is also readying the next-gen Celerio hatchback, which has been caught testing several times in India. The new model will be based on the Suzuki’s lightweight HEARTECT platform, which also underpins the new S-Presso and the WagonR. Inside the cabin, the hatchback will have a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It will come equipped with all-new dashboard design, revised central console and new steering wheel.

In terms of styling, the hatchback will receive new front fascia with new grille and air-dam, newly styled headlamps and new bumper. It will grow in size and will ride on bigger wheels. It is expected to be offered with two engine options – a 83bhp, 1.2L 4-cylinder petrol and a 67bhp, 1.0L 3-cylinder petrol. The company will also introduce a factory-fitted CNG kit with the new Celerio.

Tata Altroz Turbo

Tata Motors will introduce the performance-oriented Altroz Turbo variant in the country. The new model will be equipped with a new DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) gearbox option. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 110bhp of power and 140Nm of torque. The Tata Altroz Turbo DCT will be positioned against the new Hyundai i20 1.0L DCT, VW Polo 1.0 TSI torque convertor automatic, Maruti Suzuki Baleno CVT and Honda Jazz CVT.

Maruti XL5

Maruti Suzuki is readying the premium version of the WagonR hatchback. Likely to be called the Maruti XL5, the new hatch will be sold through NEXA premium dealership network. The overall profile of the hatchback will be similar to the WagonR; however, it will have new grille and a revised bumper. It will have split headlamps with LED DRLs, LED tail-lamps and NEXA Blue colour scheme. It is likely to be powered by a 1.2L 4-cylinder K-Series petrol engine that churns out 77bhp of power and 113Nm of torque.

Maruti Suzuki is also readying the next-gen Alto hatchback, which is likely to be launched by the end of 2021. The new model is likely to feature a crossover-ish styling with many SUV-like design highlights. It will be based on the HEARTECT platform, which also underpins the new S-Presso and the WagonR hatchback. Dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor, seat belt reminder, ISOFIX child seat anchors and the speed alert will come as standard safety features. The top-spec variant is expected to feature the touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.The next-gen Maruti Suzuki Alto will be powered by a 796cc, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that is capable of producing 48bhp of power and 69Nm of torque.
