5 New Tata SUVs To Launch In 2023-24 – New Nexon, Curvv

Tata Motors has recently launched the new Red Dark Editions of the Nexon, Harrier and Safari SUVs. Moreover, the company will soon roll out the 2023 Safari and Harrier SUVs with new features & new BS6 Phase 2 or RDE norms. Tata Motors will also introduce the CNG versions of the Punch and the Altroz hatchback in the next few months. The homegrown passenger vehicle maker is working on multiple new SUVs, which will be launched in 2023 and 2024.

Tata Motors had launched the Nexon sub-4 meter SUV in 2017, which received its mid-life update in 2020. The company has now started working on the new Nexon that has been spotted testing on the Indian roads. The new Nexon will receive design and interior changes in-line with the Curvv SUV Coupe. It will retain the original shape, but the SUV will have an all-new front and rear profile. The cabin will also see big changes in terms of features and better quality fit & finish. It is likely to receive a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting the latest smartphone connectivity and voice command function.

The 2024 Tata Nexon will be powered by a new 1.2L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which will also power the Curvv SUV Coupe. This engine is capable of producing 125bhp and 225Nm of torque. The SUV will also come with the existing 1.5L diesel engine that’s good enough for 110bhp. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer.

Tata Curvv SUV Coupe

Tata Motors had showcased the Curvv SUV Coupe concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. The new model is confirmed to be launched in our market sometime in 2024. It will be based on Tata’s GEN 2 platform, which is compatible with different bodystyles and powertrains. The new Tata Curvv SUV Coupe will be offered with petrol and electric powertrains. The Curvv will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. It will come with several modern features including a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a factory-fitted sunroof, ventilated seats, a digital driver’s display and others.

It will be powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 125PS of power at 5,000rpm and a peak torque of 225Nm between 1700-3500rpm. It is expected to be offered with a 6-speed manual and a dual-clutch automatic gearbox options. The EV version is expected to receive about 40-50kWh battery pack with an estimated range of around 500kms.

2024 Tata Safari & Harrier

Tata Motors is preparing to give a major makeover to the Safari and Harrier SUVs. Both models are expected to be launched by the end of this year or early next year. The new models will receive significant design changes, which will be inspired by the Harrier EV concept debuted at Auto Expo 2023. The new models will have a new front fascia, featuring split headlamp setup. Both SUVs will receive a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay and voice commands in six regional languages, and a new 7-inch digital driver display.

The new models will receive ADAS features including forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, high beam assist, blind spot detection, lane change alert & more. It will also come with a 360 degree camera, six airbags, ESP, traction control & others. The new models will retain the 170bhp, 2.0L turbo diesel engine with 6MT & 6AT. The new SUVs could also receive Tata’s new 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 170bhp & 280Nm of torque.

Tata Motors had showcased the Harrier EV concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. The production version of the Harrier electric will arrive in our market in 2024. The new model is designed on the Land Rover-derived OMEGA-ARC platform, which is combined with Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture. Tata Motors hasn’t revealed anything about the battery capacity or electric motor, which will power the Harrier EV. It will come with a dual motor all-wheel drive set-up. We expect the new model to feature a battery pack of around 60kWh and could offer a real-world range of around 400-500km.
