5 New Car Launches From Tata Motors in Coming Months

Tata Motors had a stellar start to this year in India with the launch of the Punch EV. The brand, with all guns blazing, is ready to launch several more products this year in the Indian market. Some of the upcoming Tata cars in India were showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show, held earlier this year in New Delhi. So, let’s talk in detail about Tata cars and SUVs launching in domestic market in coming months.

Tata Altroz Racer

Tata Altroz Racer Launch Date

Dubbed as the sportiest version of the Altroz hatchback till date, the Racer Edition will be launched shortly in the Indian market. It will be positioned at the top in the Altroz variant line-up. Tata Altroz Racer will distinguish itself from the standard variants through some cosmetic updates such as refreshed front grille, newly-designed 16-inch alloy wheels, ‘Racer’ badge on front fenders and dual-tone color scheme with racing stripes. The cabin will boast of several segment-leading features in the form of a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, heads-up display, ventilated front seats, electric sunroof and 360-degree camera. However, the biggest highlight would be the 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine which will deliver a whopping 118 bhp and 170 Nm, linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Tata Punch Facelift

New Tata Punch Facelift

Nearly a couple of weeks ago, the first test mule of the Punch facelift was spotted testing on the Indian roads. Sources closer to the development have claimed that it will go on sale only by mid 2025 in India. The styling will be heavily inspired by the Punch EV with identical headlamps, bumper and bonnet. The alloy wheel design could be a bit different. Inside the cabin, the upholstery, dashboard and layout will be borrowed from the Punch EV. However, Tata Punch facelift will have fewer features than its EV counterpart, as is the arrangement between Nexon ICE and Nexon EV. Mechanically, it is learnt that the SUV will retain the same 1.2L petrol engine with no change in power and torque.

Tata Curvv EV/ICE

Tata Curvv Petrol

It wouldn’t be an understatement to term the arrival of Tata Curvv most keenly-awaited in the Indian market. Being showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show in near-production guise, it will go on sale in the coming months. Several reports have claimed that the EV version with a driving range of 500+ km on single charge will go on sale before the ICE (petrol & diesel) version. The styling cues will be taken from the recent Tata SUVs like Harrier, Nexon and Punch EV while the cabin will boast of several avant-garde features like front ventilated seats, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ADAS tech and 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The ICE version will borrow petrol and diesel engines from the Nexon while the EV model will source the battery from the Punch EV.

Tata Harrier EV

2023 Tata Harrier

Built on the brand’s acti.ev Gen 2 EV architecture, Tata Harrier EV debuted at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi. Design-wise, it looks identical to the ICE version of the SUV with similar elements, except for the EV badging and new pattern of the alloy wheels. The cabin will carry a massive touchscreen infotainment system with OTA updates and connected car tech. It is likely to get Level 2 ADAS suite and a 360-degree camera as standard. The battery pack capacity could be 60 kWh with a driving range exceeding 500 km on a single charge. Tata Motors could equip the Harrier EV with modern technologies like vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V).
