3 Upcoming New 7-Seater Cars From Hyundai and Kia In India

Hyundai Group is aiming to further improve its market share in the Indian automotive industry. Hyundai introduced Kia brand in India last year. The Korean brand received an overwhelming response from buyers and is currently one of the fastest growing automaker in the country. In order to further boost sales, Hyundai and Kia Motors are planning to introduce new 7-seater cars.

2 Hyundai 7-Seater Cars

Hyundai will introduce a new 7-seater version of the Creta SUV, which has already been spotted testing in South Korea. Rumoured to be called the Hyundai Alcazar, the new SUV will be positioned against the upcoming Tata Gravitas, Mahindra XUV500 and the MG Hector Plus. The new model will be launched in the second half of 2021. It is likely to ride on 20mm longer wheelbase to accommodate third row of seats. Going by the spy images, it is visible that the SUV will come with noticeable design changes.

It is likely to be offered in 6-seat and 7-seat options. While the 6-seater Creta will have captain seats for the second row, the 7-seater Creta will receive bench-type seats. The upcoming Alcazar is likely to be offered with 2 engine options – a 138bhp, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 113bhp, 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be offer.

Not just a 7-seater SUV, Hyundai will also introduce a 7-seater MPV to rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Mahindra Marazzo. It is repprted that the new MPV could share platform and engine options with the Venue compact SUV. However, we believe that the new Creta’s platform will be more suitable for the 7-seater MPV. It is likely to be offered with 2 engine options – a 113bhp, 1.5-litre petrol and a 113bhp, 1.5-litre diesel.

Kia Motors is also planning to introduce new products with unique design in India. The company will introduce a new 7-seater MPV, which is likely to share the platform with the Seltos. It will directly rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Mahindra Marazzo. The new MPV is expected to be launched by the end of 2021 or early 2022. The MPV is likely to offered with 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.
