3 New Nissan 7-Seater Cars Planned – What To Expect?

Renault and Nissan aim to expand their Indian product portfolio in the next couple of years. The carmakers confirmed six new locally produced models and a fresh investment of Rs 5,300 crore. Talking about Nissan, the plan outlines four new SUVs including X-Trail, 2 India-specific models (based on the new-gen Renault Duster 5 and 7-seater) and a Triber-based MPV. Here’re all key details of the upcoming Nissan 7-seater cars that we know so far.

Nissan X-Trail India launch is scheduled for mid 2023. Here, the SUV will take directly on the Toyota Fortuner that due for a generation change. The X-Trail will be built on Renault-Nissan’s CMF-C platform and come with two powertrains – 1.5L turbo petrol with mild hybrid and 1.5L petrol with strong hybrid. While the mild hybrid setup delivers a peak power of 163PS and 300Nm of torque, the strong hybrid powertrain returns power worth 204PS with 300Nm (2WD) and 213PS with 525Nm (AWD). One of its major features is ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) offering advanced safety features. The SUV also offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.8-inch Head-Up Display, tri-zone climate control, electronic parking brake, LED headlamps and an electric tailgate. Nissan Triber-Based MPV

The Japanese automaker will enter into the compact 7-seater MPV segment with a model based on the Renault Triber. It will share its platform, design, features and powertrains with its donor sibling. Though, some of its exterior elements will be similar to the Nissan Magnite. Inside, the new Nissan 7-seater car might feature a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 12V charging socket for third row, keyless entry, power windows for the front and rear, a digital instrument cluster, rear parking sensors, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, etc. Under the hood, the MPV will feature 1.0L petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol engines, making 72PS with 98Nm and 100PS with 160Nm respectively. As mentioned above, Nissan will bring in the new-generation Renault Duster based 5-seater and 7-seater SUVs. It’s one of the much-awaited upcoming Nissan 7-seater cars that’s likely to hit roads sometime in 2025. While its 5-seater version will compete against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara, the 7-seater model will go head-to-head against the Hyundai Alcazar. The new Nissan SUV will share some of its design and styling bits with the Dacia Bigster concept.
