3 New Honda Scooters Planned For India – All Details Here

The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer recently patented three scooters for India including Honda U-Go, Honda Vario 160 and Honda ADV 350. While the U-Go is an electric scooter manufactured under joint venture of Honda Motor Japan and Guangzhou Motors Group Company, the ADV350 is a maxi scooter that target the BMW C400 GT. The upcoming new Vario 160 will take on the Suzuki Burgman Street, Aprilia SXR 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155. Here’re key details of the upcoming new Honda scooters.

In Chinese market, the U-Go electric scooter is offered in two variants – Standard and Light. While the former delivers power of 1200 watt and a top speed of 53kmph, the latter promises 800 watt and 43kmph. Both models comes with a 48v, 30amp removable battery pack. Its Standard variant offers a range of around 65km when fully charged. It can be increased up to 130kms by opting a second battery pack. In terms of features, the Honda U-Go offers LED headlamp with DRL, LED turn indicators, round rear view mirrors, floating-type rear LED taillight, LCD display panel, a large footboard space, front hook and 26-litre under seat storage. Upcoming Honda Scooters

The Honda ADV 350, which was unveiled at the 2021 EICMA, is currently on sale in select global markets. The maxi scooter carries rugged design and chiselled body panels along with the dual headlamp setup with DRLs, step-up seat, an adjustable windscreen and upswept exhaust. It offers a seat height of 780mm. For power, the upcoming new Honda scooter uses a 330cc, liquid-cooled SOHC motor paired a CVT gearbox and a V-belt drive. The motor makes a top power of 29PS and 31.5Nm of torque. With features such as Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and low-friction technologies, the ADV 350 promises fuel efficiency of 29.4kmpl.

Honda Vario 160 is surly one of the much-awaited upcoming new Honda scooters. In the Southeast Asian markets, the maxi scooter is offered in two variants 125cc and 160cc. In India, the Japanese two-wheeler maker has patented the bigger 160cc version powered by a 160cc, single-cylinder engine. The liquid-cooled motor pushes out a maximum power of 15.3PS and 13.8Nm of torque. For performing suspension duties, the scooter has telescopic forks at the front and a mono shock unit at the rear. It has single disc brakes at both ends. The Vario 160 features LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED turn indicators and LED taillights. It offers a fully digital instrument cluster, a USB charging port and Honda’s smart key.
