3 New Car/Bike Debut Next Week – Tata, BMW, Ducati

The last week of April (25th – 30th) will witness two new car unveilings and a bike launch in the country. While BMW i4 electric sedan will debut as India’s longest-range EV on 28th, Tata Motors will reveal an all-new electric SUV on 29th April. Ducati will announce prices of the Multistrada V2 adventure tourer on 25th April, 2022. Here’re key details of the aforementioned upcoming models.

The home-grown has planned something big for April 25, 2022. While there is no official word on the upcoming model, it’s reported to be an AWD (all-wheel drive) electric SUV. The model is likely to underpin the brand’s Generation 2 architecture, which is recently made debut with the Tata Curvv Coupe SUV concept. Speculations are on rife that it could be the near-to-production version of the Tata Sierra EV that first broke cover at the 2020 Auto Expo.

As mentioned above, the BMW i4 will be the longest-range electric car in the country. Its market launch is likely to happen in May 2022. Based on the 4 Series Gran Coupe, the i4 will come with eDrive40 and M50 xDrive variants packed with a 83.9kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired to an electric motor. The base variant delivers a claimed power of 340bhp with 430Nm and accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 5.7 seconds. The i4 M50 xDrive with AWD system makes power worth 544bhp with 795Nm. It can do 0 to 100kmph in 3.9 seconds. The eDrive40 and M50 xDrive offer a claimed range of 590km and 510km respectively.

Ducati Multistrada V2 is essentially the evolved version of the Multistrada 950 featuring a new clutch and updated gearbox. Compared to the 950, it’s 5kg lighter with kerb weight of 221.8kg for the standard version and 224.9kg for the ‘S’ variant. At the heart of the bike is a L-twin motor delivering power worth 11bhp at 9,000rpm and 96Nm of torque at 7,750rpm. It comes equipped with hill hold control, Bosch 6-axis cornering ABS, traction control and 4 riding modes – Sport, Urban, Touring and Enduro.
