2023 Yamaha MT-15, FZ-X, R15 V4 Launch On 13th Feb – Details

New 2023 Yamaha MT-15

Yamaha Motor India is all set to roll out the updated MT-15 V2, FZ-X and R15 V4 motorcycles on 13th February 2023. The official launch invite reads “A New Chapter Unfolding” hinting at the updated range of bikes. In fact, the company has already started dispatching the new models across its dealerships. The 2023 Yamaha MT-15, FZ-X and R15 V4 will meet the BS6 II norms that will be implemented from 1st April.

While the company hasn’t yet revealed details of the upcoming new Yamaha bikes, the spy images confirm that three models will get new colour options. While the new 2023 Yamaha FZ-X will get the Dark Blue shade similar to the FZ-S, the R15 V4 will come in Black and Red paint scheme. Besides the new paint jobs, the new MT-15 will be equipped with the LED blinkers and dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). The updated R15M will be offered with the LED indicators and a TFT console.

No changes will be made to their engines. The new 2023 Yamaha MT-15 V2 will use the same 155cc, 4-valve, liquid-cooled SOHC engine that’s good enough for 18.4PS and 14.2Nm. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. The updated FZ-X will derive its power from the existing 149cc, 2-valve, air-cooled motor with SOHC setup. The setup, with a 5-speed gearbox, pushes out a maximum power of 12.4PS and 13.3Nm. The new FZ-X will also come with the dual-channel ABS, but it could be reserved for the higher trim.

In other updates, the Japanese two-wheeler maker has planned a new 150cc adventure bike for India. If reports are to be believed, the company might bring in the FZ-X based pseudo-ADV or the WR 155R. The latter one is a proper off-road motorcycle. The adventure motorcycle uses a 155.1cc engine making power worth 16bhp and 14Nm of torque. Yamaha will also introduce the Neo electric scooter in India by 2025.
