The Tata Nexon, a popular sub-4 meter SUV, has been a consistent top-seller since its introduction in 2017. Having received its first mid-life update in 2020, the model is now preparing for its second major update in August 2023. The 2023 Tata Nexon facelift, currently undergoing extensive testing, is expected to sport improved styling, taking inspiration from the Curvv concept.
Notably, the facelifted compact SUV may come with new LED projector headlamps featuring LED DRLs, while the front fascia will likely see changes with a new grille adorned with diamond-shaped inserts, a flatter nose, and a more upright stance. Additionally, the side profile may receive new alloy wheels, and the rear may showcase a slightly revised bumper, tweaked taillamps with an LED light bar, and a redesigned tailgate.
Although detailed interior spy images are scarce at this time, it is anticipated that the 2023 Tata Nexon facelift will feature a Curvv concept-like flat-bottom, two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo at the center and paddle shifters. Furthermore, the compact SUV might boast a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and updated upholstery. One of the significant highlights of the 2023 Tata Nexon facelift will be the introduction of a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, capable of delivering 125bhp and 225Nm of torque. This means that the updated Nexon petrol variant will be more powerful than its predecessor. The new petrol engine will be paired with a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) gearbox. On the other hand, the 1.5L diesel engine from the pre-facelift version, along with the AMT gearbox, will be retained. A manual transmission will be offered as standard.
With the expected upgrades, the new Nexon facelift is likely to see a price increase of approximately Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000. The current price range for the Nexon is between Rs 7.80 lakh to Rs 14.50 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
