2023 Tata Nexon EV Facelift – What To Expect?

The Tata Nexon facelift is currently in its final testing phase and it’s reported to launch in August 2023. We have seen the SUV’s updated model multiple times with heavy camouflage, but got our hands on some of its important exterior and interior updates. The carmaker will also introduce the 2023 Tata Nexon EV facelift along with its updated ICE-powered version. While official details of the electric SUV will be revealed in the next couple of months, here’re some of its expected key changes.

Noticeable design changes

Similar to its regular version, the new Nexon EV might receive cosmetic changes inspired by the Curvv concept. The front end could be revised with slightly tweaked bumper and headlamps. The EV is likely to come with the newly-designed alloy wheels, taillamps and turn indicators. The sequential LED indicators could be reserved for the higher variants.

What could be inside?

Interior changes are expected to be similar to the ICE-powered Nexon facelift. The electric SUV will come with the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, voice commands and connected car tech. There will also be a new fully digital instrument cluster as we have seen in the Curvv coupe SUV concept. The list of features might also include an air purifier, a 360 degree camera, a sunroof and ventilated front seats.

Powertrain will remain intact

No changes are expected to be made to its powertrain. The new 2023 Tata Nexon EV Prime will use the same 30.2kWh battery pack and a 129bhp electric motor. It delivers a claimed range of 312km. The updated Nexon EV Max will come with the 40.5kWh battery pack and 143bhp, electric motor. With larger battery, the electric SUV promises a range of 437km (ARAI certified) on a single charge. It can do 0 to 100kmph in under 9 seconds.

The EV will continue to be offered with three charging options – a 3.3kW AC, a 7.2kW AC and a 50kW DC fast charger. While the 3.3kW and 7.2kW AC chargers take 15-16 hours and 5-6 hours to get it fully charged, the 50kW DC fast charger can juice up the battery (0-80%) in 56 minutes.
