2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE facelift was recently spites testing on foreign land. The updated model is likely to debut sometime next year, followed by its launch. The spotted test mules were semi-camouflaged revealing some interesting design and feature details. The front fascia has been revised comprehensively. The 2022 Mercedes GLE facelift gets a newly-designed grille with two horizontal slats and tweaked LED headlamps. The front bumper has been updated and it gets larger air intake and horizontal inserts on the lower section. The taillamps, which were covered, might get new graphics.
As of now, the interior details are scanty. Though, the 2022 Mercedes GLE facelift is likely to come with a new steering wheel as we have seen in the updated CLS. Similar to the new Mercedes-Benz models, the GLE SUV might receive a tablet-like infotainment system.
Official engine details of the 2022 Mercedes GLE facelift are yet to be revealed. The SUV might come with multiple new and updated engine options. The existing model is available with 255bhp, 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged, 362bhp, 3.0L inline-six turbocharged with EQ Boost technology and 483bhp/603bhp 4.0L V8 engine options.
In India, the entry-level Mercedes GLE variant comes powered by a 2.0L, 4-cylinder diesel engine making 245bhp and 500Nm. The GLE 400d employs a 3.0L, 6-cylinder diesel motor under the hood. The oil burner makes a top power of 330bhp and 700Nm of torque. It’s claimed to do 0 to 100kmph in 5.7 seconds. The SUV model lineup gets a 9-speed automatic gearbox and Mercedes’ 4MATIC AWD (all-wheel drive) system as standard.
At present, the Mercedes-Benz GLA is available in three variants – 300d, 450 and 400d – priced at Rs 77.24 lakh, Rs 93.07 lakh and Rs 94.22 lakh respectively. The range-topping 400d Hip Hop Edition costs Rs 1.25 crore. All prices are ex-showroom, India. The Hip Hop Edition has been offered with some exclusively features such as a 13-speaker, 590W Burmester sound system, a head-up display and Merc’s E-Active Body Control suspension.
