2022 Maruti Brezza Vs New Hyundai Venue – Prices, Features, Specs

Maruti Suzuki recently gave a generation change to its top-selling sub-4 metre SUV – Vitara Brezza. The new model has been named – Maruti Brezza – that comes with significant design and feature upgrades. It’s arch rival, Hyundai Venue has also received a mid-life update a few days back. Here, we have compared prices, features and specifications of the 2022 Maruti Brezza and New Hyundai Venue facelift.

2022 Maruti Brezza and New Hyundai Venue – Prices

The new-generation Brezza has been offered in 11 variants spread across LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ trims. Prices of the manual variants start from Rs 7.99 lakh and go up to Rs 12.46 lakh. The automatic variants, on the other hand, cost between Rs 10.96 lakh – Rs 13.96 lakh.

Buyers have four dual-tone colour models – ZXi MT, ZXi AT, ZXi+ MT and ZXi+ AT – priced at Rs 11.02 lakh, Rs 12.52 lakh, Rs 12.46 lakh and Rs 13.96 lakh respectively.

The new 2022 Hyundai Venue facelift model lineup is available in 10 variants and 6 trims. While the petrol variants are priced from Rs 7.53 lakh – Rs 12.57 lakh, the diesel version costs between Rs 9.99 lakh – Rs 12.32 lakh.

The updated Venue is relatively more affordable than the new Brezza.

The Indo-Japanese automaker has packed the new Brezza with lots of goodies including a 360 degree camera and Head-Up-Display (HUD). It’s the brand’s first model to feature an electric sunroof.

The SUV gets a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The unit also supports OTA (over-the-air) updates and advanced voice assistance and wireless dock.

There is a USB port, type A and C rear fast charger, a cooled glovebox, a flat bottom telescopic steering wheel and cruise control.

Its rear seat is wider than before.

The new Maruti Brezza is also high on safety. The subcompact SUV comes with electronic stability program with roll over mitigation, 6 airbags, rear parking camera and hill hold assist.

The new 2022 Hyundai Venue comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity.

Features such as an air purifier, powered driver’s seat, part-leather seat upholstery and 6 airbags are reserved for the range-topping SX (O) variant.

The subcompact SUV also offers BlueLink connected car tech (diesel only), wireless phone charger, a digital instrument cluster, push-button start, leather wrapped gearknob and steering wheel (DCT only) and paddle shifters (DCT only).

With respect to safety, the new Venue gets ABS with EBD, brake assist, hill start assist and cruise control.

The new Venue misses out on a 360 degree camera, HUD unit and a few other features.

The new-generation Brezza, on the other hand, is devoid of air purifier and leather wrapped steering and gearknob.

The new-generation Brezza sources its power from a 1.5L K15C NA petrol engine with Dualjet and Dual VVT technology. It makes a top power of 103bhp and 136.8Nm of torque. The subcompact SUV can be had with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.

Mechanically, the new 2022 Hyundai Venue remains unchanged. The SUV continues to be offered with the same 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol, 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and a 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine options. There are gearboxes on offer – a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, an iMT and a 7-speed DCT automatic.

While the new Maruti Brezza has no diesel engine option, the new Venue still misses out on diesel-automatic. The former is slightly more powerful than the latter (petrol).
