Hyundai India has officially started accepting pre-orders for the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The SUV can be booked online or at authorised Hyundai Signature dealership by paying an initial sum of Rs 50,000. Hyundai will announce the prices of the new model on August 4, 2022.
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is equipped with several segment-leading features and technologies. It will rival the likes of the Jeep Compass and the Citroen C5 Aircross. Moreover, the new Tucson could impact the sales of the top-spec Tata Harrier, MG Hector and the Mahindra XUV700.
The new Tucson will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a new 2.0-litre VGT turbo-diesel. Coupled to a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, the 2.0L petrol engine produces 156PS at 6,200rpm and a peak torque of 192Nm at 4,500rpm. The diesel engine is coupled to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It is capable of producing 186PS at 4,000rpm and a peak torque of 416Nm at 2,000-2,750rpm. The all-new Hyundai Tucson comes with HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD) system along with Multi Terrain Modes – Snow, Mud and Sand.
Compared to the older model, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson is 150mm longer, 15mm wider and 5mm taller and has 85mm longer wheelbase. It measures 4,630mm in length, 1,865mm in width and 1,665mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,755mm. For safety and security, the new Tucson gets 45 active and passive safety features including 6 airbags (dual front, side & curtain airbags), front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, hill descent control, hill assist control, all disc brakes & blind-spot view monitor.
The new Hyundai Tucson comes fitted with several segment-first features. It offers Home-To-Car function with Alexa & Google Voice Assistant in Hindi & English Language. The SUV comes with remote engine start with smart key, multi air mode, bose premium sound 8-speaker system, door pocket lighting and passenger seat walk-in device.
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson comes with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistant System) with 16 features. The ADAS features include forward collision warning, forward collision-avoidance assist for car, pedestrian, cycle and junction turning, lane keeping assist, lande departure warning, blind spot collision – avoidance assist, safe exit warning, leading vehicle departure alert, high-beam assist, smart cruise control with stop & Go, lane following assist, rear-cross traffic collsion warning avoidance assist and blind spot view monitor.
