2022 Audi Q3 New Gen India Launch Timeline & Key Details

German luxury carmaker, Audi has recently launched the new A8L Facelift in the Indian market. The company is now preparing to launch the new gen 2022 Audi Q3 SUV in the country. In fact, the new model has already been teased on the Internet. It is expected that the 2022 Audi Q3 will be launched during festive season, most probably in September.

For people not in the know, the new gen Audi Q3 was originally revealed in global markets in 2019. The SUV’s India launch has been delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic. Post implementation of BS6 emission norms, Audi had announced to completely revamp its portfolio in the country.

The new Audi Q3 is based on Volkswagen’s versatile MQB platform that underpins the Tiguan and the Skoda Kodiaq. It is longer and wider than the previous model and the wheelbase has also been increased for more space inside the cabin. The new model comes with all-new front fascia, which is inspired by the Audi’s flagship Q8 SUV. It comes with a larger front grille, hexagonal fog lamp surrounds and matrix LED headlamps with daytime running lamps. The SUV gets blacked-out side skirts and pronounced shoulder lines. The rear profile is largely identical to the previous model; however, it gets updated LED tail-lights and revised bumper.

The majority of the changes are made inside the cabin. The 2022 Audi Q3 comes with all-new cabin with several high-end tech features. It is likely to get a 10.25-inch digital instrument console and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other features include a 360 degree camera, a 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, pedestrian detection and driver assistance system including cruise and park assist features. Its boot has an adjustable floor and offers a luggage space of 675-litres that can be expanded to 1,526-litres by folding its rear seats.

Engine Specs

The International-spec Audi Q3 is offered with 3 engine options – a 150bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol, a 2.0L turbo petrol and a 2.0L turbo diesel. The 2.0L turbo petrol offers two states of tunes – 190bhp and 230bhp. The India-spec model is likely to a 190bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol engine. Power will be transmitted to all four wheels via a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
