Ather Energy, the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, is ready to launch the all-new Gen-3 450X electric scooter tomorrow (i.e. 19th July 2022). The new model is likely to come as a replacement to the existing model. While official specifications and details will be revealed tomorrow, the new 2022 Ather 450X is expected to come with the larger 3.66kW lithium-ion battery pack. Its power output will be close to 6.4kWh. There will be five riding modes, namely, Wrap, Ride Sport, Eco and new Smart Eco.
Interestingly, the Standard version will offer all five modes and the second version will come with reduced battery capacity and four riding modes. In Wrap mode, the scooter will deliver the maximum power and it reduce in Eco. In Sport mode, its peak and nominal power outputs will be 5.8kW and 3.1kW respectively. With bigger battery capacity, the new 2022 Ather 450X will promise a range of 146km on a single charge. In the second setting, the electric range will be 108km. The existing model of the electric scooter comes with a 2.6kW battery pack.
Compared to the existing model, the new Gen 3 Ather 450X will be 25mm longer and 11mm taller. It will sit on a 9mm longer wheelbase. No changes will be made to its width. The company might also add some new goodies to the scooter. At present, the model comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen instrument cluster, onboard navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, digital document storage, integrated 4G LTE SIM connectivity, reverse mode and full LED lighting.
The new 2022 Ather 450X might witness a minor price hike, thanks to its larger battery pack and motor. Though, it should be noted that the bigger battery will attract more FAME-II subsidy.
