Japanese two-wheeler maker, Yamaha has introduced an updated version of the NVX maxi scooter in Malaysia. The 2021 Yamaha NVX scooter is available in two variants – Standard and ABS. While the standard variant is priced at RM 8,998 (Approx 1.6 Lakh), the ABS trim costs RM 10,998 (Approx INR 1.97 Lakh).
The new NVX maxi scooter joins the Yamaha’s 155cc global lineup, which comprises of YZF R15 V3, MT-15, XSR 155, NMax, and Aerox. The 2021 Yamaha NVX retains the masculine and aggressive design. The scooter gets sporty and sculpted body lines, new body graphics and two-part LED headlights on the front apron.
The blacked-out theme can be seen around the foot mounts and side slung exhaust. The floorboard and the pillion seat have also been raised. The scooter also gets fully blacked-out six-spoke alloys. It comes with new colour options – Red and Cyan in the standard trim, and Platinum SE and GP Blue in the ABS trim.
Not just aesthetic changes, the 2021 Yamaha NVX 155cc scooter gets host of new features. The scooter gets all-led headlamp, fully digital LCD instrument console, keyless start and idle start-stop system, integrated indicators, etc. The scooter also gets Yamaha Y-Connect app, which offers connectivity options.
The Y-Connect smartphone application can be used to browse through all the information such as fuel consumption, service reminder, vehicle health check and the vehicle’s last location. The scooter has a saddle height of 790mm, while the ground clearance stands at 149mm. The fuel tank capacity has also been increase to 5.5-litres from the previous 4.5-litres.
The Yamaha NVX is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled VVA engine that churns out 15.19bhp of power at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 13.9Nm at 9,000rpm. Suspension system comprises of telescopic forks at the front and adjustable twin-shock absorbers at the rear. For braking, the scooter gets 230mm front disc and a drum brake at the rear. It rides on 14-inch wheels.
