2021 Volkswagen Tiguan 5-Seater Launch In March – Report

Volkswagen had announced to increase its SUV range to 4 models. The company is currently selling the T-ROC and the Tiguan AllSpace. Adding to it, VW Taigun mid-sized SUV is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2021. A new media report claims that Volkswagen will launch its fourth SUV in March 2021.

Volkswagen is most likely to launch the facelifted Tiguan 5-seater, which has been caught testing in India. The new model will receive a new turbocharged petrol engine. Previous reports claim that the Volkswagen will introduce the locally assembled 5-seater Tiguan, which is likely to cost under Rs 30 lakh.

2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Facelift

The Volkswagen Tiguan 5-seater will rival the soon-to-be-launched Citroen C5 Aircross and the new Jeep Compass. The updated model comes with re-designed front fascia, featuring new front grille, LED headlamps and new front bumper. At the back, the ‘TIGUAN’ lettering is placed below the VW badge. The SUV also gets an updated hands-free Easy Open and Close for the power liftgate. 

The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan will come with new steering wheel, a touch module for the climatronic auto climate control functions, and touch buttons to operate functions like heated front seats, rear window defrost and to open the AC menu. The SUV also gets a new modular infotainment system, which offers natural voice control, multi-phone pairing and wireless app-connect. It also has Volkswagen Digital cockpit and 15-color ambient lighting system. The SUV likely to get connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and wireless phone charging system.

2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Design

The Tiguan facelift will also receive a new 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-charged petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 190PS and a peak torque of 320Nm. This model could also receive all-wheel-drive system. The entry-level variants are likely to receive a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 147bhp and a 250Nm of torque. A 7-speed DSG automatic will come as standard, while a 6-speed manual gearbox will be offered with the 1.5L petrol engine.
