2021 Jeep Compass Launch Tomorrow – Price Expectations

Jeep India will announce prices of the updated Compass SUV tomorrow (27th January, 2021). Official pre-bookings have already been commenced online and at dealership level across the country. Deliveries of the new model will begin immediately after the price announcement. The carmaker says that the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift will offer “class-leading comfort and capabilities” along with “cutting-edge features and connectivity”.

Expected Price Range

Prices of the pre-facelift Compass start from Rs 16.49 lakh and go up to Rs 24.99 lakh. The updated model is likely to witness a price hike of up to Rs 50,000 – Rs 60,000. That means, the entry-level variant could be priced as low as Rs 17.00 lakh (ex-showroom).  Noticeable changes will be made to its exterior and interior along with the updated colour palette.

Exterior Changes

Most of the cosmetic changes have been made to its front end. The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift carries newly-designed headlamps with LED DRLs, seven-slat grille with black finish and revised bumper with larger horizontal air intakes housing the fog lamps. Save for the new 18-inch alloy wheels, the side profile remains unchanged. In fact, the rear section looks exactly similar to the pre-facelift version. While minimal changes are made to its exterior, the interior is entirely new and packed with extra goodies. Read – 5 Things About New Jeep Compact SUV (Sonet Rival)

Interior Updates

One of the major highlights is a new 10.1-inch touchscreen UConnect5 infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SUV also gets a full 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360 degree parking camera, a new three-spoke steering wheel, 8-way adjustable electric seats, double-stitched leather inserts, newly-designed AC vents, front ventilated seats and HVAC controls and more.

Same Engines

Engine setup of the 2021 Jeep Compass remains intact. The SUV will continue to use the 2.0L diesel and 1.4L turbo petrol engines. While the oil burner pushes out a maximum power of 173bhp, the gasoline motor delivers power worth 163bhp. All variants of the updated Compass will have a 6-speed manual gearbox for performing transmission duties. While a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox will be exclusively offered with the petrol motor, a 9-speed automatic transmission will be available only with the diesel engine.
